About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their infrastructure and deployment strategies in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be responsible for building and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure provisioning, and fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and performance of our client's critical applications and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of applications.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and scalability.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), focusing on cost-efficiency and security.
- Collaborate with development teams to streamline the software development lifecycle and improve operational efficiency.
- Implement and manage containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Requirements
- Significant experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role, with proven leadership capabilities.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS , Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) and IaC tools.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- In-depth understanding of networking, security best practices, and CI/CD principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
