Lead DevOps Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their infrastructure and deployment strategies in Birmingham . This critical role involves building and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure, automating operational processes, and fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams. You will be instrumental in optimizing our deployment pipelines, enhancing system observability, and ensuring the high availability of our services. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, ensuring scalability and cost-efficiency.
• Implement and manage containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Establish and refine monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure system health and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues rapidly.
• Define and enforce security best practices across all infrastructure and deployment processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field.
• Extensive experience in a DevOps or SRE role, with a proven track record of managing complex cloud environments.
• Strong proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms, particularly Kubernetes.
• Expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure as code tools.
• Deep understanding of networking, security, and operating systems (Linux/Windows).
