About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their infrastructure and deployment initiatives in Birmingham . This role is crucial for enhancing our CI/CD pipelines, automating operational processes, and ensuring the scalability and reliability of our cloud-based systems. You will lead a talented team, foster a culture of collaboration between development and operations, and implement cutting-edge DevOps practices. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
- Oversee and optimize our cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS, ensuring high availability, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Mentor and guide junior DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to streamline the software development lifecycle and improve release processes.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, and system administration.
- Proven expertise in building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Strong proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Deep understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
- Excellent scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) and experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing technical teams.
