About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their cloud infrastructure and deployment strategies in Newcastle upon Tyne . Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of applications.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of production systems through proactive monitoring and alerting.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Mentor and guide junior DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering , with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their core services.
- Proficiency with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and scripting languages (Bash, Python).
- Deep understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
