About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Drilling Engineer to oversee and execute drilling operations in the Coventry region. This senior position involves the planning, execution, and supervision of all drilling activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will lead a team of drilling engineers and technicians, manage contracts with service providers, and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and company policies. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed drilling programs and well designs.
- Oversee the execution of drilling operations, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.
- Manage drilling-related contracts, service providers, and equipment procurement.
- Lead and mentor a team of drilling engineers and site personnel.
- Conduct performance reviews and implement best practices for drilling efficiency.
- Monitor drilling progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in drilling engineering , with a proven track record in offshore or onshore operations.
- Strong knowledge of drilling fluids, cementing, well control, and directional drilling.
- Experience in managing drilling budgets and optimizing operational costs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and safety protocols.
