About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Electrical Design Engineer to take charge of their electrical design department in Reading . This senior role requires a proven leader with exceptional technical skills to guide a team of engineers, oversee complex design projects, and drive innovation within electrical engineering. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, efficiency, and timely delivery of all electrical design outputs, contributing significantly to the company's success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of electrical design engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Oversee the entire electrical design process from concept through to detailed design, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Develop and review electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring schedules.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to define design requirements.
- Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
- Manage design resources, schedules, and budgets effectively for projects in Reading .
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electrical design, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Expertise in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP) and simulation tools.
- In-depth knowledge of power distribution, control systems, and relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, NEC).
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
