About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to manage their Building Services division in Nottingham . This role is vital for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems within commercial and residential properties, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, drive project success, and contribute to the development of sustainable and efficient building solutions. This hybrid position allows for flexible working, combining office-based collaboration with remote work capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design for building services projects, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, specifications, and project documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with current building regulations, IET wiring regulations (BS 7671), and health & safety standards.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for electrical installations.
- Conduct site inspections, commissioning, and provide technical support during project execution.
- Mentor and manage a team of electrical engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical building services design .
- In-depth knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and relevant design software (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of energy efficiency, sustainable design principles, and smart building technologies.
- Experience managing projects and leading engineering teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
