About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Engineer specializing in Grid Integration to join their progressive team, offering a remote working option. This senior role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless and stable connection of new energy generation assets to the national grid. You will provide expert technical leadership, oversee studies, and collaborate with transmission and distribution network operators. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of grid codes, power systems analysis, and the evolving landscape of renewable energy integration within the broader energy sector. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical assessment and design for grid connection applications for renewable energy projects.
- Perform detailed power systems studies , including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis.
- Ensure compliance with relevant grid codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with grid operators, utilities, and other stakeholders throughout the connection process.
- Develop protection and earthing schemes for generation and grid infrastructure.
- Mentor junior electrical engineers and contribute to the team's technical development.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering , with a strong focus on grid connection and power systems.
- In-depth knowledge of grid codes (e.g., UK Grid Code, ERCOT NERC standards).
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, DigSILENT PowerFactory).
- Experience with protection relay settings and studies.
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
