About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Electrical Engineer with a specialization in Renewable Energy to join their team in Oxford . This role is pivotal in driving the design and implementation of electrical systems for solar, wind, and battery storage projects. You will lead engineering teams, ensure technical integrity, and collaborate with project stakeholders to deliver sustainable energy solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design and engineering for renewable energy projects, including solar farms, wind turbines, and energy storage systems.
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and specifications for grid-connected and off-grid applications.
- Conduct power system studies, including load flow, fault analysis, and protection coordination.
- Oversee the selection and procurement of electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, and inverters.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, grid codes, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a significant focus on renewable energy projects.
- Proven experience with solar PV , wind energy systems, or battery energy storage systems (BESS).
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT).
- Strong understanding of grid connection requirements and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
