Lead Electrical Engineer - Renewables

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Electrical Engineer with a specialization in Renewable Energy to join their team in Oxford . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and engineering for renewable energy projects, including solar farms, wind turbines, and energy storage systems.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and specifications for grid-connected and off-grid applications.
• Conduct power system studies, including load flow, fault analysis, and protection coordination.
• Oversee the selection and procurement of electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, and inverters.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, grid codes, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a significant focus on renewable energy projects.
• Proven experience with solar PV , wind energy systems, or battery energy storage systems (BESS).
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT).
• Strong understanding of grid connection requirements and regulations.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
