Lead Electrical Engineer - Renewables

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Electrical Engineer to spearhead renewable energy projects in Birmingham . You will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for a range of sustainable energy solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and engineering for renewable energy installations, including solar farms, wind turbines, and battery storage systems.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and power distribution plans.
• Oversee the procurement, installation, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
• Conduct site surveys, technical assessments, and performance monitoring of electrical infrastructure.
• Ensure electrical designs meet all relevant safety codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Over 8 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with a significant focus on renewable energy projects.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP) and experience with grid connection studies.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of successfully managing engineering teams and projects.
• In-depth knowledge of high-voltage systems, power electronics, and control systems.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or eligibility is highly desirable.
