Lead Electrical Engineer - Protection & Control

UK Wide | £60,000-£80,000 | Permanent

We're looking for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership across major HV and EHV transmission substation projects throughout the UK.

What you'll be doing

• Leading protection and control engineering across transmission projects
• Overseeing HV/EHV substation protection, automation and control system designs
• Leading technical reviews and resolving complex engineering challenges
• Ensuring designs meet IEC, IEEE and National Grid standards
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teamsActing as a key technical interface with clients, regulators and contractors
• Supporting innovation and development of protection and control methodologies

What we're looking for

• Chartered Engineer status - essential
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Extensive HV/EHV substation protection and control experience
• Strong knowledge of protection relays, SCADA and IEC 61850
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and major projects
• Familiarity with ETAP, DIgSILENT or similar power system software
• National Grid experience would be advantageous

£60,000-£80,000, with the opportunity to take a leading technical position across major UK transmission projects and help shape the delivery of complex protection and control systems.
