About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to spearhead their electrical engineering initiatives, serving projects based out of Plymouth . This leadership role involves the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for offshore and onshore energy facilities. You will guide a team of engineers, ensure compliance with stringent industry standards, and manage electrical project lifecycle from concept to completion. This is a significant opportunity for a motivated engineer to influence project outcomes and contribute to the advancement of energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and specification of electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, substations, and control systems.
- Oversee the electrical aspects of project execution, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Develop and implement testing and commissioning plans for electrical equipment and installations.
- Ensure all electrical designs and installations meet relevant international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) and client specifications.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to the electrical engineering team.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with substantial experience in the oil and gas or renewable energy sectors.
- Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams and projects.
- Strong knowledge of power systems, VFDs, hazardous area classifications, and hazardous area equipment.
- Proficiency in relevant electrical design and analysis software.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
