Job Description
ead Electronics Engineer
Dublin | Hybrid (3-4 days on site)
Up to €110k
Do you lead teams while still staying active in hands-on electronics engineering?
We're partnering with a global product innovation consultancy to find a highly capable Electronics Engineer to lead their team based in their office just outisde of Dublin, Ireland. The business builds physical products for major international brands across a variety of sectors, taking ideas from first concept through to devices on shelves, and has its own in-house labs and workshops to support that.
This is a senior, client-facing position for someone who can own the electronics side of a product programme end to end: shaping the hardware/software split, guiding a build from sketch to working prototype, and briefing both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders along the way. It suits somebody who isn't boxed into a single discipline, but instead would consider themselves to be proficient across the board. The plan is to build a team around this person alongside the engineers currently in place, so this is a great opportunity for a skilled electronics engineer who wants to be responsible for the growth of a new department in an already successful business.
What You'll Bring
Track record architecting embedded systems for consumer products, balancing hardware/software partitioning against tight, real-world form-factor constraints
Ability to turn early-stage product concepts into a workable electronics architecture, and explain that architecture clearly to a delivery team
Strong technical foundation across embedded hardware, wireless connectivity, power management and low-level firmware development
Confidence operating across the electronics/mechanical and electronics/software boundaries
End-to-end product experience, including taking designs through consumer trials to market release
Working knowledge of EU/US regulatory requirements and a history of designing to relevant compliance standards
Strong communicator, able to pitch technical detail to engineers and plain-English summaries to everyone else
Experience leading both teams and projects successfullyAlso Valued
A first-principles, bench-testing mindset when facing unfamiliar problems
Comfort with ambiguity and shifting requirements
If you are a technical leader who enjoys the variety in their work, as well as solving high-profile, real life challenges, then this could be the role for you.
