Job Description
Lead Engineer – Scunthorpe
Shifts - 4 on 4 off days/nights
If you're an experienced Maintenance Engineer who is ready to take the next step, but don't fancy disappearing into an office all day, this could be worth a look.
We're looking for a Lead Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing business in Scunthorpe.
You'll be around 90% hands-on, acting as the go-to engineer on shift and supporting the wider engineering team with more complex breakdowns, fault finding and continuous improvement.
The role
Act as the technical point of contact for the engineering team on shift
Get stuck into complex electrical and mechanical breakdowns
Support and mentor other engineers
Drive continuous improvement across the site
Help improve reliability and reduce repeat breakdowns
Continue developing your own technical and leadership skills
What we're looking for
Strong electrical bias with good mechanical knowledge
Solid maintenance engineering background
Experience in Food, FMCG or a similar manufacturing environment
Comfortable troubleshooting electrical faults and getting stuck into breakdowns
Someone ready to take that next step into a Lead Engineer position
Why join?
The business genuinely invests in its engineering team. There are regular training courses, development opportunities and upskilling available, so you're not expected to stand still once you join.
If you're looking for a role where you can remain technically hands-on while starting to lead and develop others, I'd be keen to hear from you.
