Lead Exploration Geoscientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Exploration Geoscientist to spearhead their geological exploration initiatives in Milton Keynes . This senior role involves directing geophysical surveys, interpreting complex subsurface data, and identifying new mineral and resource deposits. You will lead a team of geoscientists, develop exploration strategies, and collaborate with project managers to advance discovery projects from initial assessment through to feasibility studies. Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage comprehensive geophysical and geological exploration programs.
• Interpret advanced seismic, magnetic, gravity, and electromagnetic survey data.
• Develop and refine exploration models and targeting strategies for diverse geological settings.
• Lead and mentor a team of geoscientists, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
• Conduct prospectivity analyses and resource estimations for potential mining ventures.
• Liaise with environmental and permitting teams to ensure responsible exploration practices.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or a related geoscience discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in mineral or resource exploration, with proven leadership capabilities.
• Expertise in geophysical data processing and interpretation , including industry-standard software.
• Strong understanding of various deposit types and exploration methodologies.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills.
• Willingness to undertake occasional site visits and fieldwork as required by the hybrid working model.
