About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Formulation Scientist to head their pharmaceutical formulation development activities in Newcastle upon Tyne . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of novel pharmaceutical formulations (e.g., oral, injectable, topical).
• Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with GMP and GLP standards.
• Manage and mentor a team of formulation scientists and technicians, fostering a culture of scientific excellence.
• Design and execute stability studies to assess formulation shelf-life and performance.
• Collaborate with analytical development, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs teams to ensure seamless product transfer.
• Troubleshoot formulation challenges and implement effective solutions to ensure product quality and efficacy.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant experience (7+ years) in pharmaceutical formulation development, with a focus on drug product design.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, managing scientific teams and projects effectively.
• Expertise in various dosage forms and drug delivery technologies.
• Proficiency in analytical techniques used for characterizing pharmaceutical formulations.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA) pertaining to drug product development.
