About the Role
Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Lead Frontend Engineer to guide their frontend development efforts in Nottingham . In this crucial role, you will be responsible for leading a team of frontend developers, setting technical direction, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, performant, and scalable user interfaces. You will play a key part in architectural decisions, code quality, and mentoring team members. This hybrid position allows for collaborative in-office work and the flexibility of remote work, fostering a balanced and productive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of frontend engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
- Define and implement frontend architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Oversee the development of complex user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular).
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and trends, evaluating their potential adoption.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of professional experience in frontend development , with at least 2 years in a lead or senior technical role.
- Expertise in modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Deep experience with at least one major frontend framework (React, Vue.js, or Angular) and associated state management libraries.
- Strong understanding of web performance optimization, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, comfortable in a hybrid work setting .
