Lead Geologist - Exploration and Resource Estimation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Geologist to spearhead exploration efforts and resource estimation for their mining operations based in Coventry . This senior position requires a deep understanding of geological principles, advanced data analysis techniques, and a proven track record in identifying and delineating mineral deposits. You will lead a team of geologists and technicians, driving exploration strategy and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of resource models. This role is pivotal in guiding the company's future mining investments and strategic growth, contributing to successful resource development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive exploration programs to identify new mineral resources.
• Manage and interpret geological data, including drilling results, assays, and geophysical surveys.
• Perform accurate resource and reserve estimations using industry-standard software and methodologies.
• Lead and mentor a team of geologists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Prepare detailed geological reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations in Coventry and operational areas.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Economic Geology, or a related earth science discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mineral exploration and resource geology, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Expertise in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine).
• Strong understanding of various ore deposit types and their exploration indicators.
• Experience in managing field exploration teams and budgets.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
