About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Lead Geologist to join their remote team, contributing to exploration and development projects across various basins. This senior position will play a pivotal role in subsurface interpretation, prospect identification, and risk assessment, leveraging advanced geological concepts and cutting-edge technologies. You will guide a team of geoscientists, foster collaboration with other disciplines, and present key findings to senior management, driving strategic decision-making for future oil and gas ventures. Key Responsibilities

• Lead geological studies for exploration and appraisal projects, including seismic interpretation and basin analysis .
• Identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon prospects, assessing geological risk and uncertainty.
• Develop and manage geological models , integrating diverse datasets such as well logs, core data, and seismic information.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level geologists within the remote team.
• Collaborate closely with reservoir engineers, geophysicists, and management to define drilling targets and optimize field development strategies.
• Prepare and present detailed geological reports and technical presentations to internal stakeholders and external partners.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in geological exploration and asset evaluation within the oil and gas industry.
• Expertise in seismic interpretation, sequence stratigraphy, and structural geology.
• Proven ability to utilize advanced geological modeling and visualization software.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing technical teams remotely.
