About the Role

Our client seeks a seasoned Lead Geoscientist to spearhead exploration initiatives and new venture assessments in Birmingham . This role is critical for identifying and evaluating prospective hydrocarbon resources, leveraging cutting-edge geophysical and geological technologies. You will lead a team of geoscientists, champion innovative exploration concepts, and play a key part in shaping the company's future exploration portfolio. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the identification, evaluation, and ranking of exploration acreage and new venture opportunities globally.
• Utilize seismic interpretation, well data analysis, and basin modeling to delineate potential hydrocarbon plays.
• Develop and execute exploration strategies, including prospect generation and risk assessment.
• Manage and mentor a team of geologists and geophysicists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Oversee the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of geophysical data.
• Liaise with government agencies, partners, and other stakeholders on exploration activities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in geoscience , with a strong focus on exploration in diverse geological settings.
• Expertise in seismic interpretation, attribute analysis, and 3D visualization software.
• Proven track record of successful prospect identification and resource discovery .
• Advanced degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science discipline.
• Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
