About the Role

Our client seeks a highly experienced Lead Geotechnical Engineer to head their specialized team in Milton Keynes . This senior position involves overseeing complex geotechnical investigations and designs for major infrastructure and energy projects. You will be responsible for guiding project teams, ensuring technical excellence, and managing client relationships. This is an essential role for an individual passionate about ground engineering and its critical role in the stability and success of large-scale developments within the energy infrastructure domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geotechnical investigations, including site assessment and soil mechanics analysis.
• Develop detailed foundation designs, slope stability analyses, and ground improvement strategies.
• Oversee the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and drawings.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site teams.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and client communications effectively.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure integrated design solutions.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in geotechnical engineering , with a focus on infrastructure and energy projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in soil mechanics, foundation design, and site investigation techniques.
• Proficiency with relevant geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio).
• Proven leadership and project management capabilities.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status (e.g., CEng MICE) is highly desirable.
