About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Geotechnical Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. This senior role is responsible for leading geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design for a diverse portfolio of challenging infrastructure and construction projects. You will provide expert technical guidance, manage project delivery, and mentor junior engineers, ensuring the highest standards of safety and performance in ground engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the geotechnical design process for complex projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance.
- Oversee and conduct detailed geotechnical site investigations, laboratory testing interpretation, and analysis.
- Develop and implement innovative geotechnical solutions for foundations, slopes, earthworks, and retaining structures.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, calculations, and design documentation.
- Mentor and manage a remote team of geotechnical engineers, fostering their professional development.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status preferred.
- Expertise in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, SLOPE/W) and advanced analysis techniques.
- Proven experience in managing multiple projects and diverse teams in a remote setting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
