Lead Geothermal Energy Project Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Geothermal Energy Project Manager to spearhead their ambitious geothermal projects in and around Manchester . This senior role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of geothermal energy development, from initial exploration and feasibility studies through to construction, commissioning, and operation. You will be at the forefront of developing sustainable energy solutions, leveraging subsurface resources to power communities and industries. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of geothermal energy projects , ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Lead geological and reservoir engineering teams in resource assessment and development planning.
• Oversee the procurement, contracting, and management of external engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout project execution.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local communities, regulatory authorities, and project stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing effective solutions to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Degree in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in project management within the energy sector , with specific expertise in geothermal development.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, capital-intensive energy infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of geothermal resource exploration, reservoir characterization, and power plant design.
• Proven leadership skills and experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
