About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Grid Integration Engineer to join their growing team in Derby . This crucial role involves ensuring the seamless and stable integration of renewable energy sources and other new technologies into the national grid. You will lead technical studies, develop grid connection strategies, and collaborate with grid operators and project developers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of power systems, grid codes, and the challenges associated with modernizing electricity networks, playing a key part in the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical assessment of grid connection applications for renewable energy projects .
- Develop and review grid integration studies, including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis.
- Ensure compliance with relevant grid codes and connection standards.
- Collaborate with project teams to define technical requirements for grid interconnection equipment.
- Liaise with Transmission and Distribution Network Operators (TNOs/DNOs) to facilitate connection agreements.
- Provide expert advice on power system stability, protection, and control strategies.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related power systems field.
- Significant experience (e.g., 7+ years) in power systems engineering, with a focus on grid integration.
- Strong knowledge of grid codes , network analysis, and power system dynamics.
- Proficiency with power system simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory).
- Experience in the integration of distributed energy resources (DERs).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
