About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Lead Grid Modernisation Engineer to join their fully remote team. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning, design, and implementation of grid modernisation initiatives , including smart grid technologies, automation, and control systems.
- Develop and oversee the integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) and renewable energy sources into the existing grid infrastructure.
- Conduct in-depth technical analysis of grid performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance stability, reliability, and efficiency.
- Manage and mentor a remote team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, industry partners, and technology providers to ensure compliance and adopt best practices.
- Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for complex grid modernisation projects.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in power systems engineering, with a significant focus on grid modernisation and smart grid technologies .
- Demonstrated expertise in power flow analysis, grid stability, protection systems, and SCADA systems.
- Proven experience in leading and managing remote engineering teams and complex projects.
- Deep understanding of renewable energy integration challenges and solutions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
