About the Role
Our client is looking for a strategic and experienced Lead Industrial Engineer to spearhead process optimization and efficiency improvements within their key facility in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . In this crucial role, you will guide a team of engineers, implement advanced methodologies, and influence operational strategy to achieve superior manufacturing performance. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for innovation, leading complex improvement projects, and fostering a culture of continuous enhancement across the site. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Industrial Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Develop and execute long-term strategic plans for process improvement and operational excellence across the facility.
- Oversee the design and implementation of complex manufacturing systems, new product introductions, and automation projects.
- Drive the adoption of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other advanced operational methodologies.
- Analyze complex operational data to identify key performance drivers and areas requiring strategic intervention.
- Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; PhD is a plus.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Industrial Engineering , with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Proven expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt certification preferred), and project management methodologies.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing technologies, automation, and supply chain principles.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems and advanced data analysis tools.
