About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Lead Industrial Engineer to spearhead efficiency initiatives within their Birmingham-based operations. This leadership role is critical for driving the strategic deployment of advanced manufacturing techniques and lean methodologies. You will oversee a team of engineers, manage large-scale projects, and champion innovation to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and significantly reduce operational expenditures, contributing directly to the company's competitive advantage in the industrial sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of optimized manufacturing processes and facility layouts.
- Manage complex industrial engineering projects from conception through to successful completion, ensuring adherence to budget and timelines.
- Drive the adoption of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement programs across the organization.
- Conduct detailed performance analysis, identify key areas for improvement, and implement data-driven solutions.
- Mentor and develop a team of industrial engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within all operational designs and implementations.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in industrial engineering, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
- Deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing , Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale operational efficiency projects and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in CAD software, simulation tools, and data analytics platforms.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
