About the Role
Our client is seeking a results-driven Lead Industrial Engineer to join their team in Plymouth, Devon . This role demands a strategic approach to optimizing complex production systems and driving operational efficiency. You will be responsible for leading engineering projects, mentoring a team of engineers, and implementing advanced industrial engineering methodologies. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in process improvement, a strong understanding of manufacturing principles, and the leadership skills to inspire positive change within a dynamic industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of significant process improvements across production facilities.
- Develop and execute strategic plans for optimizing plant layout, material flow, and equipment utilization.
- Oversee and mentor a team of industrial engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques, simulation modeling, and data analysis to identify and solve complex operational issues.
- Drive the adoption of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Collaborate with senior management to align engineering initiatives with business objectives and ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering , with a proven track record in leadership roles.
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt essential), and other process improvement frameworks.
- Strong project management skills, with experience leading large-scale, cross-functional projects.
- Expertise in simulation software, statistical analysis tools, and ERP systems.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
