Lead Information Security Architect

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced and visionary Lead Information Security Architect to join their dynamic team in Belfast . This senior role is responsible for the design, development, and oversight of the organization's comprehensive security architecture, ensuring robust protection across all IT systems and data assets. You will set the technical direction for security, lead architectural reviews, and collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate security seamlessly into the IT landscape. This is a critical position for an individual who thrives on complex challenges and is passionate about building resilient and secure digital infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement a scalable and secure enterprise security architecture that protects against current and emerging threats.
• Define security standards, guidelines, and best practices for technology adoption and system development across the organization.
• Lead architectural reviews of new systems and projects, ensuring security requirements are met from the outset.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to enhance the overall security posture.
• Develop and maintain security architecture documentation, including roadmaps, blueprints, and strategy documents.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including IT leadership, engineering teams, and business units, to ensure alignment on security objectives.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent extensive professional experience.
• Significant experience (8+ years) in information security, with a strong focus on security architecture and design.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing complex security solutions across diverse environments.
• In-depth knowledge of security principles, frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, SABSA), and best practices.
• Expertise in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), network security, and data protection.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
