Lead Information Security Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Information Security Architect to shape and drive their security architecture strategy from anywhere in the UK, with a focus on supporting operations in Sunderland . This senior role is responsible for designing secure, scalable, and resilient systems and infrastructure that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements. You will lead the development of architectural blueprints, provide technical leadership to security teams, and ensure that security is embedded into the design of all new systems and services. This is a critical role for an experienced architect who wants to make a significant impact on the security posture of a leading organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and document robust security architectures for cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Define security standards, patterns, and best practices for infrastructure, applications, and data protection.
• Lead the evaluation and selection of security technologies and solutions, ensuring integration with existing systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT, and business teams to ensure security requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide expert guidance on security best practices, threat modeling, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Develop and maintain security architecture roadmaps, aligning with the company's strategic goals and evolving threat landscape.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• 10+ years of experience in information security , with at least 5 years focused on security architecture.
• Deep understanding of security principles across various domains: network, cloud (AWS, Azure), application, identity and access management (IAM), and data security.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale security solutions.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
