About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Lead Information Security Engineer to spearhead their security engineering efforts within a fully remote capacity. This senior role is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of advanced security solutions that protect the organisation's digital infrastructure. You will mentor a team of security engineers, drive innovation in security technologies, and ensure that our security posture remains robust against sophisticated threats. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical expertise and strong leadership qualities, enabling them to make significant contributions to our client's cybersecurity strategy from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise-level security infrastructure and solutions.
- Mentor and guide a team of security engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices.
- Develop and automate security operations, including incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management.
- Evaluate and integrate new security technologies and platforms to enhance defence capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle and infrastructure deployments.
- Champion security best practices and provide technical leadership on complex security challenges.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in information security engineering , with a minimum of 3 years in a lead or senior capacity.
- Deep technical expertise in areas such as network security, cloud security (AWS/Azure), endpoint security, and SIEM.
- Proven experience in leading security projects and managing security engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices, cryptography, and threat modelling.
- Excellent scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively in a remote, distributed team environment.
