Lead Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Lead Information Security Engineer to spearhead their security engineering efforts within a fully remote capacity. This senior role is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of advanced security solutions that protect the organisation's digital infrastructure. You will mentor a team of security engineers, drive innovation in security technologies, and ensure that our security posture remains robust against sophisticated threats. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise-level security infrastructure and solutions.
• Mentor and guide a team of security engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices.
• Develop and automate security operations, including incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management.
• Evaluate and integrate new security technologies and platforms to enhance defence capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle and infrastructure deployments.
• Champion security best practices and provide technical leadership on complex security challenges.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in information security engineering , with a minimum of 3 years in a lead or senior capacity.
• Deep technical expertise in areas such as network security, cloud security (AWS/Azure), endpoint security, and SIEM.
• Proven experience in leading security projects and managing security engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices, cryptography, and threat modelling.
• Excellent scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Ansible).
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively in a remote, distributed team environment.
