Lead Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join their established facility in Birmingham . In this critical role, you will drive process improvements, implement new manufacturing technologies, and lead engineering projects to enhance product quality and production efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues and ensure the smooth operation of all production lines within our manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes and systems.
• Identify and implement innovative engineering solutions to improve product quality, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment and production lines.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve technical challenges and implement best practices.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement effective corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• Extensive experience (5+ years) in manufacturing engineering , with a focus on process improvement and automation.
• Proven track record of leading complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software, statistical process control (SPC), and lean manufacturing techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical data.
• Experience with automation and robotics in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
