Key Responsibilities
- Lead the research and development of new mechanical concepts, technologies, and product designs, from ideation through to feasibility studies.
- Direct and mentor a distributed team of mechanical engineers, fostering innovation and ensuring technical excellence.
- Oversee the creation of complex 3D models, detailed engineering drawings, and simulation analyses using advanced software tools.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product management, and external partners, in a virtual setting.
- Define and implement best practices for mechanical design, analysis, and testing within the R&D department.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities for competitive advantage.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a highly relevant technical field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design and development, with a significant portion focused on R&D and innovation.
- Proven track record of leading successful R&D projects and bringing novel concepts to market.
- Expertise in CAD/CAE tools (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, COMSOL) and advanced mechanical design principles.
- Strong understanding of material science, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, adept at managing remote teams.
