Lead Mechanical Engineer - Product Development

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and engineering efforts for new product development projects from concept to production.
• Oversee the creation of detailed mechanical designs, including 3D models, drawings, and specifications, using state-of-the-art CAD software .
• Conduct thorough engineering analysis, including FEA, thermal analysis, and vibration studies, to ensure product performance, durability, and safety.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including industrial designers, electrical engineers, and software developers, in a distributed team environment.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for mechanical development activities.
• Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to quality standards and company processes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Demonstrated success in leading mechanical engineering teams and delivering complex products to market.
• Expertise in product design principles , materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with advanced CAD/CAE tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, ANSYS) and simulation techniques.
• Excellent remote communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, essential for a fully remote role supporting the Nottingham area.
