About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Mechanical Engineer to spearhead critical engineering initiatives from their Birmingham facility. This leadership role involves guiding a team of engineers, overseeing project execution, and contributing technically to the design and development of advanced mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers on multiple concurrent projects, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Oversee the entire mechanical design process, from initial concept generation through to detailed design, analysis, and validation.
- Develop and implement robust engineering processes and best practices to enhance team efficiency and product quality.
- Conduct and review complex engineering analyses, including thermal management , structural integrity, and dynamic simulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout the design and development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role .
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced mechanical design principles, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials science.
- Proficiency in state-of-the-art 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX) and engineering simulation tools.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate engineering teams, manage project risks, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of the organization and external partners.
