Our client seeks a dynamic Lead Mechanical Engineer to spearhead critical projects from their Newcastle upon Tyne facility. This senior position is responsible for guiding engineering teams, driving technical innovation, and ensuring the successful execution of mechanical design and development initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, providing technical direction and project oversight.
- Develop and implement innovative mechanical designs for new and existing products, ensuring optimal performance and manufacturability.
- Conduct rigorous design reviews, performance testing, and validation protocols.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
- Liaise with internal departments (e.g., R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance) and external stakeholders.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the mechanical engineering function.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Significant experience (8+ years) in mechanical engineering, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
- Expertise in product design , analysis, and manufacturing processes .
- Proficiency in advanced CAD/CAE software and simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and risk assessment.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
