About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the industrial automation sector, is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to spearhead their engineering initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . This senior position requires a visionary leader capable of guiding a team of engineers in the design, development, and optimization of sophisticated electromechanical systems. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Develop and implement innovative mechanical designs for new and existing product lines.
• Oversee the creation of detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Conduct advanced analysis , including thermal and vibration studies, to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve design challenges and optimize production processes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in complex system design and integration.
• In-depth knowledge of FEA software , CFD, and advanced modeling techniques.
• Strong understanding of industrial standards, safety regulations, and quality control methodologies.
