About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Molecular Biologist to join their R&D team in Nottingham . This senior role will focus on designing and executing experiments related to gene function, gene regulation, and molecular mechanisms underlying disease. You will lead critical research projects, mentor junior scientists, and contribute to the development of novel diagnostic or therapeutic strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, execution, and troubleshooting of complex molecular biology experiments .
• Investigate gene expression, DNA repair mechanisms, and protein-protein interactions.

• Analyze and interpret complex data sets, contributing to scientific publications and presentations.
• Mentor and guide junior scientists and research associates in the laboratory.

Requirements

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related life science field.
• A minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in molecular biology research.
• Expertise in techniques such as PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, DNA sequencing, and cloning.
• Strong understanding of gene regulation, recombinant DNA technology, and basic genomics.
• Demonstrated ability to lead research projects and manage laboratory activities effectively.
