Lead Offshore Wind Turbine Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Offshore Wind Turbine Technician to join their pioneering team. Although based operationally near Southampton , this role is structured as a remote-first position, offering unparalleled flexibility. You will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient maintenance, inspection, and repair of offshore wind turbines, ensuring maximum uptime and performance. This leadership role requires strong technical acumen, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage and mentor a team of technicians, contributing significantly to the success of vital renewable energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the daily activities of a team of offshore wind turbine technicians.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on wind turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, including working at height and in confined spaces.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to identify and rectify faults efficiently.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on maintenance strategies and turbine performance.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure proper documentation of all maintenance activities.

Requirements

• Significant experience as an Offshore Wind Turbine Technician or similar role.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience within a technical team.
• Strong knowledge of wind turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Experience with major wind turbine manufacturers and their specific platforms.
• Valid GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) certifications and relevant offshore medicals.
• Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and communication skills.
