About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and technically adept Lead Penetration Tester to join their dedicated cybersecurity team in Portsmouth . This senior role will involve leading offensive security engagements, identifying complex vulnerabilities in client systems and applications, and providing expert remediation advice. You will be responsible for mentoring junior testers, developing testing methodologies, and ensuring the highest standards of ethical hacking and security assessment are maintained, playing a critical role in proactively defending against sophisticated cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute comprehensive penetration testing engagements across networks, web applications, and mobile platforms.
• Develop creative attack vectors and scenarios to identify sophisticated vulnerabilities.
• Document findings in detailed, high-quality reports, including executive summaries and technical remediation steps.
• Mentor and guide junior penetration testers, fostering their technical growth and ethical standards.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of penetration testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Present findings and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders clearly and effectively.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Proven expertise in various penetration testing methodologies and tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and web application security.
• Experience in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for tool development and automation.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or GPEN are essential.
