Lead Penetration Tester

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Penetration Tester to join their security assessment team. This fully remote role will involve planning, executing, and leading comprehensive penetration testing engagements against the company's web applications, networks, and infrastructure. You will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, assessing their impact, and providing actionable recommendations to improve the overall security posture. As a lead, you will also mentor junior testers and contribute to the development of advanced testing methodologies, playing a crucial role in proactively defending against cyber adversaries in a dynamic threat landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, scope, and execute complex penetration tests, including web application, network, and infrastructure assessments.
• Identify, exploit, and document vulnerabilities, providing clear and concise reports with actionable remediation advice.
• Lead and mentor a team of penetration testers, guiding their technical development and project execution.
• Develop and maintain custom scripts and tools to automate penetration testing tasks and enhance efficiency.
• Stay current with the latest exploitation techniques, attack vectors, and security vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed effectively and efficiently.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the penetration testing program and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Proven expertise in offensive security techniques, including web application attacks, network exploitation, and social engineering.
• Proficiency with penetration testing tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, and Kali Linux.
• Experience in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for tool development.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to diverse audiences.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, CREST CRT, or CISSP are highly desirable.
