About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned Lead Process Design Engineer to join their team, operating entirely remotely. In this senior role, you will be responsible for overseeing the conceptualization and detailed design of complex chemical processes and facilities, ensuring they meet stringent safety, environmental, and economic objectives. You will lead a team of engineers, provide expert technical guidance, and liaise with clients and stakeholders to deliver state-of-the-art process solutions. This position is ideal for an experienced leader who thrives in a flexible, home-based setting and possesses a deep understanding of process engineering across various industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of process design packages, including PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
- Manage and mentor a team of process engineers, providing technical direction and performance feedback.
- Conduct and review detailed design calculations, simulations, and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, discipline engineers, and clients to define project scope and ensure successful project delivery.
- Champion best practices in process design, safety, and sustainability within the engineering team.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in process design and engineering, with significant leadership responsibility.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools .
- Deep understanding of various unit operations and chemical manufacturing processes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for effective remote team management.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects.
