About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead Process Development Engineer to spearhead their process innovation and optimization efforts in Wolverhampton, West Midlands . This leadership position involves guiding a team of engineers and scientists in developing, scaling, and implementing cutting-edge chemical processes. You will be responsible for driving technical strategy, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in managing complex projects and a deep understanding of chemical engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of process development engineers and chemists.
- Oversee the design, execution, and analysis of pilot-scale and commercial-scale process development projects.
- Develop and implement robust process scale-up strategies to ensure successful technology transfer.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and engineering departments to align process development with business objectives.
- Ensure all process development activities adhere to stringent safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Drive innovation by exploring and evaluating new technologies and methodologies for process improvement.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in process development, scale-up, and optimization within the chemical industry.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams and projects.
- Expertise in process modeling, simulation, and data analysis techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, separations, and process control.
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
