About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Lead Process Engineer to join their operations in Southampton . This leadership role is integral to the design, development, and optimization of process systems within the Oil & Gas industry . You will oversee process engineering activities, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the efficient, safe, and environmentally sound operation of our client's facilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving technological innovation and operational excellence, contributing significantly to project success and the overall performance of the company’s assets in Hampshire.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the process engineering design and execution for capital projects and modifications.
- Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
- Conduct process simulations, hazard and operability studies (HAZOPs), and safety reviews.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on process optimization, troubleshooting, and debottlenecking.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and mentor a team of process engineers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Liaise with clients, vendors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project objectives are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in process engineering, with a substantial portion within the Oil & Gas sector .
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing process engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of process design, simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus), and P&ID development.
- Expertise in conducting safety reviews like HAZOP and LOPA.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills required for this role in Southampton .
