About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished and visionary Lead Process Engineer to guide their technical team in Southampton . This senior position is central to driving innovation and excellence in process design and execution for a range of chemical projects. You will be responsible for leading engineering efforts, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring that all projects meet stringent safety, quality, and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex chemical processes from conceptualization through to commissioning.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of process engineers, fostering skill development and best practice adherence.
- Oversee the creation and review of process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
- Conduct rigorous process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement mitigation strategies to ensure operational safety.
- Manage project scope, budgets, and timelines, ensuring successful project delivery in collaboration with project managers.
- Act as a key technical liaison with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, representing the company's engineering capabilities.
Requirements
- Chartered Engineer status (e.g., CEng) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering, with significant experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of process design principles, simulation tools, and project lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and leading engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, environmental protection, and health and safety standards.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
