About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Process Engineer to join their established manufacturing facility in Birmingham . This role is pivotal in optimizing and developing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. You will lead process improvement initiatives, troubleshoot complex production issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, a deep understanding of manufacturing principles, and the ability to drive innovation in a hands-on environment. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and refine manufacturing processes to improve yield, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality.
- Lead process improvement projects using methodologies like Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production defects and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and production teams on new product introductions and process validation.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff on process-related matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of process simulation software and data analysis tools.
- Proven track record in implementing successful process improvements and cost reductions.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in industrial settings.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
