About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Process Engineer to join their established manufacturing facility in Birmingham . This role is pivotal in optimizing and developing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. You will lead process improvement initiatives, troubleshoot complex production issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and refine manufacturing processes to improve yield, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality.
• Lead process improvement projects using methodologies like Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production defects and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and production teams on new product introductions and process validation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff on process-related matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Proven track record in implementing successful process improvements and cost reductions.
• Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in industrial settings.
