About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer to spearhead process design and optimization initiatives for their facilities in Southampton . This senior role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of their operations within the Oil & Gas sector . You will lead a team of process engineers, develop P&IDs, conduct process simulations, and oversee the implementation of new technologies. Your expertise will be vital in driving process improvements, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and mentoring junior engineers. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on major projects within a well-established company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of process systems, including PFDs and P&IDs, for new and existing facilities.
- Conduct process simulations and calculations to optimize performance, energy efficiency, and safety.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of process engineers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve technical documents, proposals, and vendor equipment specifications.
- Collaborate with project management, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless project execution and handover.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process engineering, with a focus on the Oil & Gas industry .
- Demonstrated experience in leading engineering projects and teams.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus) and P&ID development tools.
- Strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) principles.
