About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer to spearhead process design and optimization initiatives for their facilities in Southampton . This senior role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of their operations within the Oil & Gas sector . You will lead a team of process engineers, develop P&IDs, conduct process simulations, and oversee the implementation of new technologies. Your expertise will be vital in driving process improvements, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and mentoring junior engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of process systems, including PFDs and P&IDs, for new and existing facilities.
- Conduct process simulations and calculations to optimize performance, energy efficiency, and safety.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of process engineers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve technical documents, proposals, and vendor equipment specifications.
- Collaborate with project management, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless project execution and handover.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process engineering, with a focus on the Oil & Gas industry .
- Demonstrated experience in leading engineering projects and teams.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus) and P&ID development tools.
- Strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) principles.
