About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Lead Process Safety Engineer to join their globally distributed team, working remotely from anywhere within the UK. This critical role focuses on developing and implementing robust process safety management systems across their Oil & Gas operations, ensuring compliance with stringent international standards and best practices. You will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related risks, fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, including HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL assessments.
- Lead and facilitate Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs) and other risk assessment methodologies for new and existing facilities.
- Develop and review safety critical procedures, operating manuals, and emergency response plans.
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide technical guidance and training on process safety principles and regulatory requirements to engineering and operations personnel.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in process safety.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Process Safety Engineering , with a significant portion within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in HAZOP, LOPA, SIL assessments , and other risk assessment techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of international process safety standards (e.g., OSHA, SEVESO, API).
- Proven ability to manage safety projects and drive cultural change in a remote setting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
