About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Lead Process Safety Engineer to join their globally distributed team, operating remotely. This critical role will ensure the highest standards of process safety across all company operations, focusing on hazard identification, risk assessment, and the implementation of robust safety management systems. You will lead the development and execution of process safety strategies, ensuring compliance with international regulations and company policies, and fostering a proactive safety culture throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Process Safety Management (PSM) system in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., OSHA, HSE).
- Lead and facilitate HAZOP , LOPA, and other risk assessment studies for new and existing facilities.
- Conduct process safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and deliver process safety training programs to engineering, operations, and management personnel.
- Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Champion a strong process safety culture across all levels of the organization through effective communication and engagement.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in process safety engineering , preferably within the energy or chemical industries.
- In-depth knowledge of process hazard analysis (PHA) techniques and methodologies.
- Experience with safety instrumented systems (SIS) and functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508/61511).
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex safety projects remotely.
- Excellent report writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
