About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Lead Process Safety Engineer to join their team, offering a hybrid working model based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands . This senior role is responsible for guiding the development and implementation of robust process safety strategies across the organization, ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory standards and promoting a culture of safety excellence. You will lead a team of safety professionals and collaborate across departments to identify, assess, and mitigate process-related risks. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the company's Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
- Oversee and conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) including HAZOP, LOPA, and consequence modeling.
- Develop and implement robust policies and procedures for Management of Change (MOC), incident investigation, and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR).
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site personnel on process safety best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international process safety regulations and standards.
- Lead safety audits and inspections, driving continuous improvement in process safety performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in process safety engineering, with a significant portion in leadership roles.
- In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies, risk assessment techniques, and safety management systems.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing PSM programs in complex industrial settings.
- Strong understanding of relevant safety legislation and industry standards (e.g., COMAH).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills to drive safety initiatives across the organization.
